Maybe one reason Islam is persecuted When I told my non-Muslim brother I am muslim, he came up with a lot of ridiculous reasons to not be Muslim which got me thinking.
He said Halal food, Muslim charity etc are just designed to make money. He basically decided the whole religion is a ploy to make money. 😂
I explained to them that halal food isn’t a very profitable industry. If it was, all our food would be halal long ago.
In fact,
-
no profit from pork products
-
No profit from alcohol, drugs, etc
-
Complete prohibition against all extravagance
-
Fasting (obvious less consumption there)
-
Prohibition against overeating and eating poor quality food
-
Give to the poor; no excess wealth
-
No RIBA (interest)
-
Removal of western beauty standards (I went from spending 100s every month on make up and beauty to almost nothing)
-
Prohibit against fashion: we should wear modest clothes which are not attached to any fashion trends so typically we need less garments
-
Avoiding consumption of haram media such as music, tv and movies: how can they brainwash is with their subliminal advertising and consumerist agenda
-
Muslims devote a lot of time to many things which provide no obvious monetary gain to anyone: - Salah - reading Quran and Islamic texts which are almost always freely available or very inexpensive - Du’a and dhikr - the list goes on
My mind has never been so free of filth since I became Muslim. I spend very little money on things I don’t need. I definitely know why many big business and government are trying to boycott Islam and destroy their peoples.
Yes there are some profitable Islamic companies/businesses but if you balance it out, it’s much more profitable for people to be non-Muslims. Even in many Muslim countries, they are engaging in consumerist ideology which is against Islamic principles, but if we follow the Sunnah, there is no real consumerist profit in that.
