THE NEW NORM OF PRAYER IN CONGREGATION Ustaz Kazim Elias reminds us; "If this new norm is extended for too long, then it is no longer normal." Ustaz Kazim Elias' latest appearance is a commendable and acknowledged effort in upholding the truth, based on what he has stated to defend the truth, showing concern about this new norm (distance of 1 meter when performing congregational prayers in the mosque / surau) due to this pandemic threat; where the physical imprisonment of 1 meter cannot remain in applying it in Islam. He asserted; "We can accept this new norm..but until when? If this new thing is completely contrary to the Sunnah that originated from the Prophet (ﷺ), then this problem should be discussed and reviewed more carefully in its implementation". He added; "There is nothing better than the teachings brought by Islam. We cannot say that there is any better way than what Islam has given us in dealing with this problem. If this new norm is practiced in the Islamic Sunnah forever, then that is no longer normal. We need not fear that there is something else behind this pandemic and that research should be done thoroughly and more deeply. There seems to be another agenda behind this situation. " and it is difficult to enter it unless it is found to be positive or indicates a sign²; but after the virus has spread around the world with hundreds of thousands of deaths, sudden panic and sudden death such as video footage of people who died as a result of Covid-19 as before are no longer visible but continue to disappear and remain silent. All that is available is the news of the recent increase in cases. "" Islam is the truth, the teaching that was brought by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) from the Lord of the universe. There should be no compromise in Islam, by changing the way of congregational prayer from the original way to the new way. It is not appropriate to just accept the new norms of congregational prayer; What is even sadder is that we just follow and practice the sunnah of the WHO without questioning its impact on our worship ". by changing the way of congregational prayer and causing the original Sunnah to be neglected and the new Sunnah to be accepted. a new version of Islam, as a result of changing the way of the Sunnah to be suitable to be implemented in this pandemic situation. He reminded that our Prophet (ﷺ) had told us to close our shoulders while performing congregational prayers. Al-Bukhaari, 686; Muslim, 425. Diriway Atkan from 'Abd -ullah ibn' Umar that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Make your line straight, stand shoulder to shoulder and close the gap, and do not push your brother's hand. Do not leave a gap for the devil to enter. Whoever closes the ranks, Allah will repay him, and whoever breaks the ranks, then Allah will leave him. Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) also said, narrated by Abu Dawood, 666; Al-Nasaa'i, 819, 620. It is narrated that Al-Nu'maan ibn Basheer said: "The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) turned to the people² and said, 'Straighten your ranks ..' 3x, 'By Allah, it is better for you to straighten your ranks or Allah will create a division between your hearts. 'And I saw people standing, shoulder to shoulder, knee to knee, ankle to ankle ". Going back to this pandemic topic, we would like to question about wearing a face mask while performing prayers. Where, while performing "Prostration" while praying, 7 limbs must touch the earth, its parts are; - 2 tips of the soles of the feet - 2 knees - 2 palms - and 1 part of the face, (meaning forehead and nose). Guess, how much? The total is 7 parts, instead of 6½. The forehead and nose are counted as one part. By wearing a mask, how can the nose touch the place of worship? Doesn't wearing a face mask when praying, cause only 6½ of the 7 parts should be in contact with the place of prostration. One of the Hadiths that mentions the above things about the 7 parts of the body that must touch the earth during prostration are; Sahih Al-Bukhari 809 Narrated by Ibn ʻAbbas: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was commanded (by Allah) to prostrate in 7 parts and not to wear clothes or hair (while praying). The parts are: forehead (along with the tip of the nose), both hands, both knees, and (toes) both feet. Everything that happens must have a reason, nothing happens by chance. With His permission, Allah has chosen Ustaz Kazim Elias, to remind us of the truth. The truth that has been forgotten by most Muslims. Now, it is up to us to take up this challenge, as well as act to uphold the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and state the right thing as true, the wrong as wrong. The Ulama 'in this region should emulate the courage of Ustaz Kazim Elias in upholding the truth. Do not be like the weeds, which just follow the direction of the wind wherever it blows. May the Muslim Scholars stop hiding behind the shadows ² and should step into the light, because the shadows cannot exist without light. Knowledge and useful info should be shared ...
