Hello brothers! I am an American man who was raised Roman Catholic but never truly believed in the Catholic philosophy. When I discovered how closely the Islamic faith was with the one I held in my heart, I began reading the Qur'an and following the teachings of Allah and Muhammad (peace be upon him). While I have not officially converted to Islam yet, I am spiritually the healthiest I have ever been in my life, but have been struggling with following some of the Islamic rules.
While many of the dietary rules are easy to follow, I am struggling with comprehending the validity of the rules. While I do not want to question Allah, I have struggled throughout my life with rules that seem to have little moral backing, and some of the rules specific to Islam have been troubling me lately. While I have not read much of the literature of the Islamic faith as of yet, I have read about rules online and in the parts of the Qur'an that I have read that I am struggling to comprehend and follow. I would greatly appreciate it if some of my brothers more experienced in the faith could help me better understand the importance of these rules so that I may do better in following them. Thank you!
