Hello.
My parents are trying to force me into marrying someone who is 10 years older than me despite my consistent refusal and providing them with every reason why I do not wish to marry this individual. They have been giving me the silent treatment to convince me to marry this person, and I was told that this is akin to cutting of the ties of the womb, which is a sin.
No matter what, I am not going to marry the individual my parents have presented because 1. I already have a perfectly fine partner who my parents refuse to meet on the basis that he is white (he is muslim) 2. Going along with the marriage would make my parents happy, but I would be miserable and I would just be wasting the other persons time. It would lead to a quick divorce.
Now, if I were to move out and islamically marry my partner and leaving open a window of communication for my parents to contact me when they are ready to come around, would I be severing the ties of the womb in doing this?
Thank you for the advice.
