Salam Brother and Sisters,
I need guidance on whether it's wise to be conscious of evil eye and envy. For example if something bad happens to me, I like to hypothesize potential sources of envy or evil eye when I can't root cause more non-theist hypothesis.
At worse it makes me more conscious by doing prayer, reciting verses prescribed, donating and being more humble. If I suspect it's a person I just make sure to focus our discussions on helping those in need, Allah's creations like nature and the universe and straying away from personal materialistic successes.
From one perspective it could seem "redundant" to keep hypothesizing about these things since there's always envy and other such things. But I feel like if I didn't entertain such thoughts, I'd lose another reminder to be conscious in my Deen and introspect to better myself as a human and as a Muslim.
