Can someone please provide me with some info about dyeing hair / beard ?

I am a young man (but would also be interested in the rules for women dyeing hair)

what colors aren’t / are allowed ? is there any methodology it must be ?

i’ve seen hadiths that day Rasulullah ﷺ likes covering gray hair (as long as it wasn’t dyed black) and ive seen some staying the opposite, saying he disliked it.

(disliking covering gray hair Dawud :: Book 34 : Hadith 4210 )

( liking covering gray hair Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah (5/168)

Also I have seen hadiths saying he permitted red, and that he liked yellow more than red, but then I have seen another stating he disliked yellow.

( liking yellow even more than red Abu Dawood (4211) from Ibn ‘Abbaas )

these all seem to be sahih and i’m confused about the contradictions but would like to learn more

I would like clarification please (sources preferred)
