Assalamualaikum brothers/sisters from desi parents, I believe this topic is important to discuss and share examples why are our parents disappointed just because we couldn't meet their worldly wishes and does this align with the goals of the akhirah?
I believe for some reason usually parents tend to forego the important issue which is to focus on the success of the hereafter and solely/mostly focus in the matters of this fleeable dunya such as comparing yourself with other relatives whether it's a matter of job or something else.
Isn't this an oppression if an individual cannot achieve the level of success because of Qadr(pre destination) despite his best efforts and/or he/she doesn't want to pursue the certain path since success is a subjective term if he is abused by his/her parents for not achieving worldy goals?
