Readings into Morality in Islam vs Collective good

I've recently been reading the arguments from the atheist standpoint which states that society does not really need morality from religion, since they can be derived from 'collective good' or the effect of an action on the well-being of a human. E.g. - Civil rights, women suffrage etc

I can't find convincing Islamic arguments to this. Please point me to good readings.
