My dad has early signs of dementia so I get that reasoning with him is often not a thing I can do. He gets angry, lashes out, and calls me and my mom stupid if we disagree with him.
My cousin was in contact with someone who tested positive for covid, and she recently developed a fever. The doctor did a test and now we’re waiting for the results. I told my dad to stop seeing his family (his mom, his sister, and my cousin) for at least a few days, and he said no. Then he went and visited them this morning.
When I begged him to at least keep a distance from my cousin, he said “she doesn’t have a fever anymore so it’s fine.” My sister called me crying and said it’s my fault if my dad or my mom get sick because I didn’t “control the situation.”
I’m just at a loss. I’m putting this here because obviously only Allah can protect from and inflict disease, so I’m asking everyone to make dua for my parents. I don’t care about myself—I can die or whatever. I just want my parents and sister to be safe and happy. I’m also posting here to rant to brothers and sisters in faith.
