I like to dabble in my free time making music. I took lessons when I was little and sang in choir.
I rarely produce music that contains lyrics, it's usually just a guitar playing that is ambient. Is this permissible? Also the songs that I do have that contain words contain no bad things. I write lyrics that spread good meaning and positivity. Is this also haram? If I am playing in a band and I am just playing the guitar and not singing nor did I have any say in what the lyrics are in a song, and the lyrics aren't that modest, more mainstream rock, for reference like "under the bridge" by RHCP, is it haram to play with on guitar? since I am only just playing the guitar.
