As Muslims, we make dhikr (remembrance of Allah) by saying phrases such as alhamdulillah, astaghfirullah, and mashallah. As I have been trying to practice this act of worship in a conversational sense, I find it harder to make dhikr in front of non-Muslim such as my friends. For example, I would usually say, "I'm good, alhamdulillah" with other Muslims, but I would exclude the latter part when talking to non-Muslims.

In my opinion, I feel like it's inappropriate to kind of "rub" in our religion into our conversations while talking to non-Muslims (even though that is not our intention, but it feels that way). Wouldn't people would think I'm too religious or find it strange if I started saying Islamic phrases in the middle of normal conversations?

I'm not sure if I have a wrong mindset, but I want some of your guys' experience and opinion on this. And should I make dhikr when talking non-Muslims?
