I went to downtown to try and watch the UFC fight at one of the places that play it in downtown. But downtown lately has been dangerous and I heard of shootings where 1 man was killed, so I was on alert.
As I walked around a corner as I was going to a place I believed would be playing the UFC game. Then a young man with his girlfriend asked me if I can use my phone. I found it odd that he would ask me such a question around that time of night and that place has been known to have assaults and robberies of cell phones. Innocent people got assaulted and their phones taken by thugs.
So I just nodded No No, by using my head to go side to side without talking to him. And as I kept walking he said "Bitch Ass N***** I will break your jaw, yeah you better keep walking away". So I stopped and looked at him, and my adrenaline started going up. I wanted to really beat him up for threatening me that way, but I remembered the shootings in the downtown and knew that he may have a gun and shoot me to death if I beat him up badly, or that his woman may stab me or do something else to me as I beat him up. I knew I Had a risk of death but then I Remembered that isn't the end of me and there is Akhira, if Allah intended me to die, then nothing can stop it. So I just stood there and waited for him to try and fight him.
Funny thing is that he is half my size and skinny and shorter so I don't even know why he would say such a thing and threaten a guy bigger than him. The damage I could've done to him would've been substantial. I weigh 210 and that is not mostly fat. He looked skinny and like he weighed 150 or less pounds. The fact that he threatened me like that and called me those derogatory words confirmed my suspicion that the guy is up to no good and in fact was out to steal someones phone that night. He and his woman were African American possibly unbelievers (I highly highly doubt he was Muslim) and I am African Muslim.
Here is nearly the exact same spot as this dude who wanted to do that to me and he wanted to assault me for my phone. His woman was most likely also part of it and they most likely were looking for an easy picking victim.
That night had I fought him and beat me up and maybe if he pulled out a gun and shot me and killed me, at least I would've died as a warrior fighting a criminal, and Allah would allow me to enter Jannah/Janat out of his Mercy. My father died by gunshot back in the homeland. I waited to see what that criminal would do and see if he would fight me but I guess he was too scared to fight me and knew only how to talk out of his mouth. I called 911 to report him and his woman who threatened me and appear to be out looking to rob or steal a person of their cell phone.
