I live in turkey and I found the imams here “very weird”. Sorry if what I am going to say offends some people but I must say it. I have only read some of the quran but I researched a lot and I am definitely going to read all religious book as soon as I can. Some imams here say it is okay to bribe someone which I found weird and unbelievable. They say hitting a stick to the ground rhythmic is absoluetly haram. Some say it is okay for government to get money from people forcibly even they dont have a reasonable reason. Some say it is haram for women to work. Some say women cant go outside or have male friends. They are saying a boy who has piano courses cant be memorable man. And a girl who has ballet lessons cant be memorable woman. They are saying worst muslim is better than best atheist. They are saying we dont need to read science books because quran is enough for a human to understand.
I just dont understand. Everything I do is haram. I listen music. Haram. I keep rhythm. Haram. I use subway. Haram. I have close girl friend (only friend). Haram. I wear chain. Haram. I help other people as much as I can but I wear expensive. Haram. I read poetry. Haram. I read books unrelated to religion. Haram. I love pianos. Haram.I love dancing. Haram.I am drawing something. Haram. I AM JUST DRAWING I AM NOT WORSHIPPING TO MY DRAWING.
I see a cute girl with a skirt and I see a guy who is “slut shaming” a THREE YEAR OLD and saying something like “wow she guaranteed hell. She should wear hijab”. They see a woman on evening and they are like “oh no what a slut”. They say they shouldnt go out in evening because they are getting sexualized but I think they are the ones sexualizing the women. Recently I saw a celebrity who became doctor and there were tweets like “you are a woman go home, first pray, do you even know the duties of islam”. I think people like this are why we(turkey) cant develop.
I really believe in Allah and quran but I just feel like I am going straight to hell because of the things above. The worst thing is when I ask for source they dont have any. I dont think any of the things above is really in quran.
Everybody is hating everybody and there is too much hate. I dont want to hate people because they are gay,woman or because they dont wear hijabs. I think we can live along with love and peace.
I hope I can get an answer.
