The word Ar Raman is usually translated into The Most Merciful. But the word Ar Rahman isnt just Most Merciful.
First of all, what if mercy? Its usually used in English to stop a harm. Like for example someone is about to kill u, u shout "have mercy" etc. It is usually just prevention of committing harm.
Now what is Rahman? Well the word Rahman comes from the Arabic word Rahm which is the womb of the mother. Now what happens the baby in the womb? In the womb the baby is protected from harm, is provided from food, helped in problems etc.
So Ar Rahman is Allah protecting us from harm, watching over us, solving our problems, providing for us etc.
