Is the hadith weak? Despite it's been reported by Ibn Abbas, it still has a strange chain of narrations. First there's Uthman ibn Muslim al-Shuhham, who has been considered by many scholars to be weak in his hadith. Then we have 'Ikrima, who was part of Khawarij and Yahya Saeed bin Al Ansari called him a kadhab (liar). It also contradicts with another hadith (in sahih Muslim, I think) of the Prophet (SAW) condemning vigilantism. This hadith contradicts with too many moral and legal principles of Islam and the Sharia, so shall we reject it?
