The Islamic afterlife in general seems... confusing. On one hand a lot of verses seem to imply that the Islamic version of hell is permanent and will be inhabited by everyone who isn’t Muslim, while others imply that it’s temporary and that everyone will go there for a time, but Muslims won’t be there long (I’ve been told that there’s a verse stating that hell will eventually be emptied), while others seem to imply that Christians, Jews, and Sabians will basically get a pass/temporary punishment while Muslims will get to skip hell entirely (the verse about them not having anything to fear when they stand before Allah). In addition, at no point in my (admittedly short) observance of the Quoran was I able to find a verse saying that non-believers who weren’t enemies of Islam couldn’t convert to Islam after dying but before judgment day, or possibly even after judgment day. These are only a few of the things Iv heard proposed, and all of them seem to have some level of Quoranic backing. I’d appreciate any answers this community can give me!
