A friend is currently at the time where she has to pick out roommates, and there's currently a lot of discussion in her family about what she should do.
It's led to her being asked by someone to give even one perspective from the Quran or notable Islamic scholars saying that it would be allowed to live with non-muslim roommates.
Admittedly, my own searching has been pretty fruitless, I found the passages concerning living in the majorities/minorities of countries, but unfortunately it's not something that would satisfy them (they really specifically want to hear about "roommates specifically", which is pretty difficult.)
Does anyone have any particular insights on this kind of thing?
