Salam everyone, my apologies for the rather crude nature of this post.
But, it's come to my attention that apparently you need four eye witnesses to prove rape. That's because they class it as a type of zina. This is what I found on some prominent fatwa sites and I have to say I'm deeply troubled by this. Apparently if the woman can't produce these witnesses (which is very likely, what kind of men would stand around watching a woman get raped just so they could show up in court to testify) then she's supposed to get the punishment?
That's deeply unfair, and makes it impossible for the victim to get any justice. How can a religion that claims to uphold justice also have ridiculous laws for proving rape, it makes no sense to me.
