The Quran clearly states that non muslims either pay a jizya (tax for not being muslim), convert, or get killed. So is this how you think it should be?
Also, people in those countries DO read the Quran dude... Do you speak Arabic by chance? All of that would pass in an Islamic country dude, are you insane? There's a tenant in Islam that when you see something haram you first try to change it with their hand, meaning with force. This is the justification these people use to physically attack and force these women to cover. It's based off a hadith from the prophet.

The context of this is that this ex-muslim thinks that Islam doesn't support women's rights and they go in to post specific things/news links that talk about women being harassed and beaten for not wearing the hijab/vial. They also go on about how Islam is behind and needs to reform to the western stuff yada yada(wasn't interested in this part tbh). I replied to them that the Quran doesn't condone forcing women or anyone to anything but they replied with this Hadith and honestly this Hadith doesn't even talk about what to do if a lady doesn't wear their hijab but sins in general. I know I'm all over the place and I haven't slept since suhr.
