(Muhsin Khan and Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali) O you who believe! Fear Allah and keep your duty to Him. And let every person look to what he has sent forth for the morrow, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
-Surah Al-Hashr, Ayah 18
(Muhsin Khan and Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali) And be not like those who forgot Allah (i.e. became disobedient to Allah) and He caused them to forget their ownselves, (let them to forget to do righteous deeds). Those are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
-Surah Al-Hashr, Ayah 19
Something to think about. There is a progression towards self reflection. You start off with taqwa before you look at yourself or else you aren't going to really look or even give importance to what you see. See what you are doing for the grand scheme of things and what kind of result will come from it. Then have taqwa again after you look so you are in the mindset to correct yourself or even encourage yourself to do more khair.
Taking care of yourself for your imaan and 3mal is dependent on your remembrance of Allah. This is a good opportunity for us but let's hold onto our good habits so we do not revert back to whatever mistakes we came into Ramadan with.
