Assalamu alaikum everyone,

Browsing this sub today, I have to say that I felt a little disheartened with some of the topics brought up... In particular the whole Sunni vs. Shia "discussions". I'm not about to weigh in on those conversations, because, frankly, I find them distracting from what it means to be a muslim, i.e. One who submits. Furthermore, I am not educated enough to even refute any/all claims made in that regard.

So, in the last few days we have left in this blessed month, I'd like to remind everyone that our focus should first and foremost be on the one who created us, and not on what happened with the order of who became the calipha 1400 years ago. Truth is, I wasn't there to bear witness to what happened, and neither were you. So I humbly request that we do not ruin this amazing sub, and keep on track with increasing our taqwa and sending salawaat unto our beloved Nabi (SAW).

I'll leave you with an Ayah from surah An-Najm, which I just read and I felt compelled to sharing it with you all (Ayah 32):

As for those who avoid grave sins and foul acts, though they may commit small sins, your Lord is ample in forgiveness. He has been aware of you from the time He produced you from the earth and from your hiding places in your mothers’ wombs, so do not assert your own goodness: He knows best who is mindful of Him.
