Is it acceptable for converts and non-native Arabic speakers to say the five obligatory prayers in their local language? Could a new Muslim find a translation and say them in English or would they have to learn the prayers in Arabic? If the prayers are in Arabic does it matter if someone understands what they mean, or do they just have to say the words?
