a few years back i was at my local mosque and a man told me that i need to put £3 in the islamic donation thing box. i forgot its name but its black and has a hole for money. im in the uk if that means anything. he said my prayer would be accepted by god if i don't. its £3 per family member.
i found that a bit wrong. allah didn't say put £3 every eid or i will money accept your prayer. what was he talking about? did i get ripped off? or what happened? any thoughts on the matter or what he could have meant?
