I have been living in NYC for a while now and encountered my fair share of street preachers, who stand on corners with signs and yell at passersby about Jesus. There are also the people who go up and down train cars forcing captive audiences to listen to their little sermons. I've never encountered a Muslim (or Jewish either) person doing these things. I'm wondering if there's any opinions/thoughts on why this might be.
I'm thinking maybe it has to do with the importance of respecting neighbors. We wouldn't want to go around and force people who are stuck on a train car to listen to our beliefs and tell them all that they should believe the same. Or could it be some kind of wisdom around being humble that doesn't lead the self-important attitude of, "people need to hear what I have to say".
