I never knew to do this. I just started and in the last 2 days, I've found bugs, poop, and mold inside the date where the pit is. If you buy them pitted, it's probably not a big deal, but if you buy them with the pit still in them, make sure you check. I brought a $50 box and it's kinda discouraging. I kinda just wanna throw away the box. I'm just thinking about how many dates I've just popped into my mouth over the years... its kind of turning me off of dates if we're being honest here.
