How can you have full conviction during salah if you know Allah might say no?

Is it conviction that He’ll answer only?

I think part of my problem with dua is that I’m a pessimist. Every time I make dua at the back of my head I keep thinking “the answer is probably no” whether that means I’ll get it later or in the Hereafter. Is that conviction? Like I never think “He’s not listening to me,” but just kind of a sureness that I won’t get what I want.
