I’m a college student, and my college has obviously gone online due to Coronavirus. We aren’t being monitored during our exams, so many students are probably going to cheat (look up answers, use notes, etc.). I know cheating is wrong in Islam, but I’ve really been conflicted because I’ve been making dua and praying extra this whole semester (and of course studying and trying to put in the effort) so that I can get all A’s this semester. However, one my classes has been going pretty rough, and I don’t know how realistic it is to get an A in the class anymore. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I’ve been thinking, what if the transition to online classes is just an opportunity from Allah to help me get an A in the class since it’ll be easier to look up answers and use my notes during the exam? Honestly, I feel like I know the answer to this: it’s wrong, but still, it sucks knowing that other students will cheat and get higher grades than usual. I’m just kind of conflicted. Thoughts?
