With the coronavirus fears, everyone is scrambling for masks and sanitizers. What I have learned recently but what I think some brothers and sisters do not know is that most hand sanitizers contain alcohol denat or ethanol or some other form of alcohol in it to kill the germs. Even some doctors have said it needs to be 60% alcohol for it to kill the germs. If someone uses sanitizers with this alcohol product in it, will our ibadah and prayers still be accepted because it is for our safety? Or will it have the same ruling as alcohol in perfumes which some scholars say is haram and will make our ibadah not accepted?
