She passed this Monday at the age of 33 from acute respiratory failure and was found to be covid-19 positive an hour after her death. We couldn’t see her in the hospital, we couldn’t see her when she passed, and we won’t be able to bury her tomorrow. Her 9-year-old daughter messaged me this morning asking why she couldn’t go and that “it’s not fair.”

Her dad has asked two relatives to drop him off at the masjid and neither are able to go because they’re in quarantine with elder relatives in poor health at home. So he’s most likely gonna go there by himself and bury his wife, alone.

My wife and I live 30 minutes away and we’re absolutely helpless. Never could I have imagined a scenario where this many people are dying and we can’t even give them a proper sendoff.

Sorry about the morbidity of this post, I just couldn’t think of any other place to post this.
