Asked this question before on this sub but some people didn't understand it somehow so here it is again but worded a little differently.
I was thinking that the threat of punishment for Zina or adultery will put off many rape victims from coming forward since if they cannot prove the rape happened they could be potentially be severely hurt or killed under a Islamic Sharia for committing zina or adultery since people may think they had consenting sex and are lying about the rape? Rape even in developed countries is a very difficult thing to prove and most victims are scared to come forward even with things like the #metoo movement. So having the chance of getting killed potentially would put off victims from coming forward about being raped.
Also there is a child to prove that a rape or consensual sex happened too.
