Salam aleykum brothers and sisters,

Just wanted to ask two questions which are bothering me.

Why do we say Sallalahu aleyhim wa salim after saying Muhammads (Pbuh) name? Sall means praying, and I don't think that it can be meant that Allah (swt) prays to Muhammad (Pbuh), stagfirallah.

My mother onye told me (I think) that praying is meant in another context here, but I really don't know.

May Allah (swt) have mercy for you.

Edit: Forgot the second question ;/
