I understand completely that a majority of Allah’s (swt) commands are in place to make us morally sound and critically thinking people who treat others with kindness and respect, take care of each other and nature and expressing gratitude for life’s blessings. These are in their own sense an act of worship. But then also are acts of worship claiming Allah swt as the one God and Mohammed pbuh as his messenger, regular prayer, hajj, reading and reciting Quran.

Non-muslims don’t do these things, obviously. Hell even some Muslims don’t do all the things they should do either. But the way I’m understanding it is even if you live your life the way that Allah has set the guidelines to live - which have influenced all world cultures and civilized societies for centuries - but are not a Muslim, you have no chance of ever entering Jannah for that simple thing.

For example when i see stories of men and women and children even who make huge sacrifices for others, use their influence or money or power or passion to help people, are genuinely kind and loving and care about others more than themselves. The medical professionals and first responders who dedicate and risk their lives to be unbiased and do their best to save the world...when these kinds of amazing people die, it hurts me that i cannot even be permitted to wish even a tiny little corner of Jannah for them for the good deeds for humanity that they did simply because they were not Muslim or chose a different religion or had none at all. Or maybe they believed in something but just hadn’t found Islam yet or lived in an environment that made it nearly impossible for them to accept it...

Then I see some Muslims who dont even pray, who are not kind to others, who are judgmental and condescending and arrogant, selfish, and not even what my kindergartener-level perception would consider a nice person. But their chances of going to Jannah simply if they are believers, and ask for forgiveness, is higher than those who spend their entire lifetime being a good person. And not doing it because it feeds their ego to be a “good” person, or people who do good things because of ulterior motives like fame or money or acknowledgement. Honestly i feel like a lot of Muslims too only do good things because they are afraid of hellfire and want to get more “points” into Jannah, not simply because its the right thing to do.

So then whats the point of being a good person? Why should i waste my energy feeling mad or upset at all the non-muslims in the world who suck? They wont go to heaven anyways, so why should they care?

Astaghfurillah I even had the question in my mind, does Allah swt only care about being worshipped more than that his servants live good lives and treat each other well? Why would a king of all creation want those kinds of people in His company? You know, quality over quantity?

I’m just trying to wrap my head around this. Please share some hadith or verses that might help me understand this better. Thank you in advance and may Allah make all of our troubles easier for us, Ameen.
