There is this sort of dichotomy that has me really confused. We know from our books that its preferred to eat less, and may of the pious predecessors would eat very little. We know with modern nutrition/experience that you have to eat ALOT (even more if doing cardio) to be able to build muscle. Yet the Sahabah wouldn't eat much (maybe im wrong?) but they would be fighting in battles, wearing armor and swinging around swords. That takes alot of strength.
This all really confuses me. Like I'm a skinny guy and I already have enough problems trying to get big, then add in the hadith about eating a lot and I feel like I'm wrong if I try to gain weight. How can they eat so little yet be so strong. There has to be some information has been conveyed incorrectly.
