2019 just finished and I want to give my 2.5%, I was wondering if it would count as Zakat if I give it to members of my own family who are struggling financially?
The reason I have doubt is because that same money may come back and benefit me, and is it really charity in that case? Also supporting your family is a basic obligation that we should all fulfill anyway so can that be seen as Zakat?
