Such a surreal experience. The sprawling mass of people of all sorts, rich or poor, the utter urgency of their desperation towards the same salvation really puts things into perspective. To witness firsthand that all are equal in the eyes of God.
To finally understand that whatever you do in this world God will always embrace you with his forgiveness. He is the most Merciful. Whatever it is, no matter how cruel or revolting you think it is, so long as deep in the depths of your heart there is a conscious awareness of God, even down to your last dying breath you may still beg God the creator of all for forgiveness.
That's all it comes down to. The conscious awareness of the root underlying cause of reality, the ground of reality, the grand scheme of things, the plot in this cosmic drama, the absolute principle. This singular principle, the first cause, is what we call God.
This awareness of an all-encompassing, all-pervading, all-present and all-powerful force in this vast arena of stars just reminds you of who you really are and what it's all about. This transcends beyond your devotion to any religion because it deals with the direct relationship between you and God alone.
So you see why Shirk is the only sin unforgivable. To chase and worship false materialistic images and corruption of that omnipotent absolute from which you came. You have forgotten who you are and what it's all about.
