Some computer scientists and evolutionary biologists worked together to create a supercomputer that comes up with little combinations of skin and heart muscle cells to create a little organism that can do a certain task.

It uses some evolutionary algorithms that kinda work like natural selection to improve on and find the perfect combination for a certain task. The scientists then go in with real heart and skin cells in the combination the computer came up with to create the organism in real life, and welp, it works

So basically they hacked evolution and have created microscopic life forms that have never existed on earth before. But it’s not anything advanced, just tiny combinations of cells that can do stuff like spin around, turn, flip, etc. It’s also figured out by a supercomputer which combination works best.

We’ve created little robots, except they’re alive.

This could be pretty huge for medicine because if we figured out how to properly use them for whatever we want, then maybe a swarm of them could be sent up to your brain to get rid of a tumor or something, and since they are your own cells, then the immune system wouldn’t fight them. But would this be acceptable? Humanity has created life, but only Allah can do that, is this haram?
