I mean, the word ”insurance fraud” is a red flag for it being haram but hear me out.
My friend’s vehicle is messed up, motor is almost dead and is expensive to fix, seats don’t calibrate, in general the car is becoming a burden. He has spend 10K$ on it and it was worth 10k when he bought it.
He plans to damage the car vehemently. To an extent to that his insurance will give him the funds to buy a new car. His insurance will take the old car and re sell the parts and so on.
I said, go for it because the car is a burden.
