Sulaymān bin Mūsā - “Do not take knowledge from a sahafī (someone who takes knowledge from books and not from scholars).”

عن سليمان بن مـوسى قال:

«لا يؤخذ العلم من صحفي»

[التمهيد لإبن عبد البر (٣٩/١)]

From Sulaymān bin Mūsā who said:

“Do not take knowledge from a sahafī (someone who takes knowledge from books and not from scholars).”

[At-Tamhīd of Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr (1/39)]

Translated by Abū Ruqayyah ‘Abd us-Samad
