In any case I am very attached to it for some reason and especially to Maryams verses. Imagine being that loved by God at such a young age and chosen above all women in the world...

First I'd like to start off with this...

And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east. And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man. She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah ."

Imagine an Angel coming in a male human form, that would be a site to see and a cause of desirability. I mean, Yousef was only a human and the women cut up their hands. Mary saw a legit Angelic man and her first gut reaction was her chastity. Subhanallah..

And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten."But he called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream. And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates. So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.' "Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste." So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"

Imagine the fear a teenager a must've had in her situation. Has spent her whole life in worship in the temple, was praised for her chastity and is now about to show up with a child out of wedlock to the Children of Israel. But she had no need to fear because God was on her side. He told her to keep quite, point and he will do the talking for her. We know that we have God as our gaurdian always, but imagine getting revelation from him direct that hes got your back dont worry!

And mention in the Book [the story of] Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet. [Mention] when he said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all? O my father, indeed there has come to me of knowledge that which has not come to you, so follow me; I will guide you to an even path. O my father, do not worship Satan. Indeed Satan has ever been, to the Most Merciful, disobedient. O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion [in Hellfire]." [His father] said, "Have you no desire for my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time. [Abraham] said, "Peace will be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me.

This is another one of my favorite dialogues in the Quran. Abraham pleading with his father to stop idol worship. As an Arab speaker I can tell that the words for oh my father, ya abati, is one of the most endearing call you can give your father. In a good context it is describing immense pleasure and joy. In a bad context, like above, it is displaying immense sorrow and pain, you can imagine the pleading Abraham was doing with his dad... and in the end he showed his sorrow and pain regarding his father to God in supplication.

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Which of [our] two parties is best in position and best in association?" And how many a generation have We destroyed before them who were better in possessions and [outward] appearance? Say, "Whoever is in error - let the Most Merciful extend for him an extension [in wealth and time] until, when they see that which they were promised - either punishment [in this world] or the Hour [of resurrection] - they will come to know who is worst in position and weaker in soldiers."

This is another of my favorite verses. I mean is this not the current dialogue? The oppressive elite with their wealth and possessions and military might. Look at all the people suffering directly or indirectly because of the actions of a select few. This is a comforting passage, that their power and titles is fleeting and only temporary, and all the harm they caused will be dealt with in justice. And the ones they oppressed will be given the upper hand, but the upperhand that isnt fleeting nor temporary. Like Chapter Haqqah when they will say, halaka 3ani sultaniya.../ released from me is my authority... and God will say, khuthuhu faghuloo/ take him and chain him up...

On the Day We will gather the righteous to the Most Merciful as a delegation

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection

Imagine that, being gathered to the pleasure of God, God being your protector that day directly, just as he protected and defended Mary to the point of her not even needing to speak, he had her back. And also when she had wished she was dead and forgotten during labor, God gave her water and dates, he will be that source of affection and love for us. Just to note wuda is translated as affection but also means love. I mean just thinking about Gods love is about to make me ball...

I love this entire chapter but these verses just hit the spot for me and I thought I would share <3
