Hi there!

I have a couple of questions and these questions could be both; explanatory questions where I seek more explanation about a certain subject (tried to find objective research about Islam, trust me it's hard to find some) and opinion research about certain points of Islam and significant characters of it. So here we go:

  1. How do you feel about Muhammed (may peace be upon him) being married to Aisha at the age of 6 & 7 and going to live with the prophet at the age of 9-10 while Muhammed (may peace be upon him) was around 53? What's your opinion on that? Do you consent to it? Do you agree and continuously support a religion where a significant character would be considered in modern society to be called a "paedophile" and a "rapist"

Note: I know that it's impossible to determine the exact age but most scholars agree that (based on Aisha's sisters witnessing) Aisha was at most 18? Does that change your point of view?

  1. A lot of people consider the Islamic nations to be intolerant towards different cultures and religions because doing so often leads to death. Based on history, in the past, we would understand why the nation would take that decision as they were in the middle of a war with the non-believers (non-believers were attacking Islamic practicers so the Islamic nation was in a defensive position) My questions is: why is it, as of right now, some countries are still supporting this even though there's no current war majorly tied to religion? How do you (as a Muslim) feel about these countries in favour of this rule? And the verses in the Quran in support of Apostasy?

  2. How do you feel about Blasphemy and the fact that criticizing the Muslim religion is a punishable offence by death?

  3. How do you feel about certain liberties not being awarded to slaves and women? (Such as Freedom of Speech, Free choice and free will) Also counting the fact that these rights weren't fully respected as you could be executed for saying something against the Islamic religion.

  4. Women aren't at the same level as man. Example:

- A woman must cover herself fully in front of a man. Quran 24:31. A lot of scholars have interpreted this because of the fact that they seduce men by not covering themselves and that's bad. It's as if it a women's job to make sure a man isn't seduced. She is blamed. That's without going that a man barely has to cover up as much as a woman. Of course, I'm not saying a woman to nude herself completely, of course, there is indeed some covering up she must do, but it's barely as much as men and most importantly she is doing it to not seduce men as if it were her fault.

- A woman's testimony is worth half a man's. Quran 2:282. Now, this. This simple rule probably made the whole Islamic judiciary system broken. Imagine if you're a woman and a man raped you. No other women or man is witness. How exactly can you win that case or any case for that matter if there was no one else present?

- Menstruation is impure. Quran 2:222. So Allah decides to create menstruation then says they are impure? What?

- Women get half the inheritance their brothers do. Quran 4:11. Once again, I would understand in the past because men were the only workers and were the breadwinners in the family. So the sister didn't need the money as much as she most likely was married and had a husband to support her. What about in modern society? Why is this justifiable? How do you feel about this verse in the Holy Quran?

- Men are in charge of women and can beat their wives. Quran 4:34. How do you feel about this? And if you're married do you apply it?

- Men can keep sex slaves. Quran 23:5-6, 4:24. Yikes! These were women who were uniquely used for sexual desires to be fulfilled. How do you feel about this?

Conclusion: These are my questions. It would be nice to know how a Muslim feels about this and is willing to react to it. Thanks in advance.

Also, if "modern Islam" doesn't apply this, that technically means you have changed certain points of your religion and how you apply it in society. So Islamic beliefs and values have changed and some modifications have been put in place, right?

NOTE: THESE QUESTIONS ARE NOT ASKED IN ORDER TO SEEK HATE UPON THE ISLAMIC COMMUNITY. I ALL SIMPLY AM CURIOUS ABOUT THE RELIGION AND WANT TO SEEK APPROPRIATE INFORMATION FROM THE PRACTICERS THEMSELVES! ALL INFORMATION I HAVE IS FROM ONLINE AND MIGHT NPT BE ENTIRELY CORRECT.
