Hi folks.

I’ve been trying to find information about the following:

1) The differences between the sects of Islam (Sunni/Shi’ite/Ba’ath)

2) Why there is a conflict between them

3) The relationship that each individual sect has with the western world.

4) The relationship, or lack of, with Israel of each individual sect, and the reasons for the lack of relationship.

5) Why the western countries (US) seem to side more so with Sunni sects (SA) than Shi’ite sects (Iran) or Ba’ath (Syria)

I understand a lot of what I’ve posted above may be wrong, but I am trying to understand the whole situation that we find ourselves in today.
