I've had my struggles with Christianity because I am the daughter of a minister, so I had a stronger backing in actual biblical studies than many other people around me, just cause if you're a preacher's kid you read your bible backwards and forwards. One of the things I struggled with was Christianity felt like fanfiction of the Torah for westerners. I always thought, why are you following a jewish man who you say was the son of god yet you created this church that is no way jewish, this just feels like fanfiction.

I don't know how I feel about Islam, because I haven't really researched it's holy scriptures the way I was just obsessed with my own, but is it the same way? Christianity says, Jesus was the son of god, and is god, and the holy spirit, and he made a new law for everyone. Judaism says if you just follow the Noahic laws you're ok as a gentile. Christians seek converts, Jews make people work to be converts. If it's all the same God, why so many so many versions and how do they all work together to form the people of the book?
