For me, I have noticed that unlike Muslims, non-Muslims (and even some non-practising Muslims) have no models for perfection and human character. All practising Muslims look up to the model in 7th and 8th century Arabia of the Prophet and his Companions, a model that transcends the constraints of time and geography.

Non Muslims on the other hand, fall back on the culture they were born in and always exaggerate it's accomplishments, because other than that, they literally have nothing. Now the problem with this is that we do not get to choose the culture we are born in. Some cultures (and subcultures) are downright dysfunctional and toxic. A Muslim can happily jettison such garbage but a non-Muslim can be protective and reluctant. This can at times make them bigoted, protective and even racist.

How do you find non-Muslims to be different?
