What to bring? Where to go? Best times and places?

Spending approximately a week in Makkah and Madinah each, and a day or so in Istanbul.

All advice is welcome, and advice on using one's phone while on Umrah is especially welcome, because that is one thing I have received conflicted advice on. (I have TMobile).
