I made this post a few days ago out of total desperation about this just awful situation. About taking care of my mom and suddenly losing my job with no money to speak of. The outpouring of prayer and love from r/Christianity was absolutely astonishing. As strong if not stronger than most of the real church communities I’ve attended. Then /u/mortal69420 suggested I make a post to r/Islam so I did. And they completely blew me away. I was a stranger in their community and they embraced me. The advice and love I got from these two subs seriously has probably been the #1 thing that has kept me together til this point. As far as me, things are going a bit better. I took some advice and donated plasma, I have been bugging my neighbors about doing some housework for them. Applied to just about every assistance program out there. Been on 3 interviews with one seeming like a good lead. I don’t know HOW we’re going to make it but you all have assured me through scripture that I WILL. Thank you r/Christianity thank you r/Islam. From the bottom of my heart, I’ve seriously never felt so embraced by any community online or not. You guys rock.
