Hello, r/islam!

I've met a number of Muslims online and realized I don't know much about their religion. I noticed this community is very open to questions and I'd like to ask some. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask questions.

For some background, I'm an American Christian. I've done a small amount of research on the history of your religion and became very interested when I took a course that included readings on Islam.

I'll try to keep the list short:

  1. What is the Quran? What is actually in it? There are a lot of myths online about what it actually says.
  2. What sorts of things do you believe about God? (The basics please)
  3. How does Islam view the concepts of heaven and hell?
  4. What do Muslims believe about Jews and Christians?
  5. Why are you personally Muslim? Were you raised that way? Did you embrace the religion later in life?

If I think of any more questions I'll add them to this list. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond!
