Hello, I am Roman Catholic, and I have a question to the Muslims here:

As I know, Islam promotes modesty of clothing, and one of the most well-known example is the Hijab. Now, having researched this briefly, I understand that it can be a cultural thing, like the difference between Burka, Abaya, Niqab, etc.

So my question is; if, for example, a European woman becomes Muslim, would it be acceptable for her to follow examples of modesty from the European tradition that fits well with Islamic requirements? Like, what the Amish women wear, or a revival of some of the older European headdress from the middle ages, like the wimple?

I wonder this, because there are sects of Christianity who, apart from the monastic women, have headdress that seem similar to Islamic headdress. For example, would these conservative, Orthodox Christian women not be required to have major changes in their head covering if they were Muslim?
