Hi!

Is reading Al Fatiha over a man and woman, make them husband and wife? Does it make all things between them halal?

Or no? I am under the impression it doesn't, and Nikah is what makes two people married.

Some say it makes them engaged and some say it makes them "halal married".

I am not sure, as I don't think Islamically speaking theres an engagement period.

I am looking for strictly Islamic answers.
