Assalamu alaikum. I’m a 22 year old white American currently living in Egypt with my husband, recently I’ve become more open to wearing my hijab full time, I’ll wear a simple black hijab and a cover when I pray but I’m fairly new to Islam and I’ve been a bit intimidated to wear it out in public. My question is about the styles of hijabs that are allowed, I know plain black is preferred so that is what I use for prayer but now that I’m more comfortable I would like to start using a hijab when I go out with my husband. I know that plain colors are also allowed but I was wondering what the general consensus was on having a hijab that has a print on it like flowers or a geometric pattern? I’ve even seen some with lace trim or small tassels that aren’t too flashy but I’m still very new so I’m not sure what would be considered appropriate. Thanks!
