Had a debate today with a friend. Topic was, if a person or company, known to profit from haram sources (eg shareholder of a beer company, or a person who benefits from riba') provides sadaqah to random people to go perform umrah or Haj, is the umrah or Haj of the person considered void and haram? Situation would be that the person knew or unawares of the source of the sadaqah.
My argument was the umrah and Haj is halal and the person is not sinful for the source of the sadaqah while my friend argues that it's haram from A to Z from the donor right to the person performing it.
Any hadith to help this situation? Jazakallah
